Day Care for Medically Fragile Children
PediaTrust provides specialized medical daycare for children with complex medical needs at no cost to families. In a safe and nurturing environment, children receive skilled nursing care, therapy services, early education, and transportation, all covered by Medicaid. Our program is designed to support each child’s medical needs while helping them grow, learn, and thrive socially and developmentally. Nursing Care
RNs and LPNs providing personalized care in a safe, kid-friendly and developmentally simulating environment.
Physical
Therapy*
Our physical therapy program helps children who have difficulty moving, have poor balance, or have difficulty interacting with their environment.
Occupational
Therapy*
Our Occupational Therapists help children with their ability to perform daily activities such as eating, dressing, playing, etc.
Speech Therapy*
We provide speech therapy for articulation difficulties, repressive, expressive, vocal difficulties, and oral feeding difficulties.
Education
Programs
Education is an integral part of children’s daily lives which includes opportunities for growth through learning the ABC’s, playing outside, participating in indoor events, or doing arts and crafts.
Recreation
& Activities
We provide a combination of fun learning experiences and therapeutic care to our patients. Supervised outdoor and indoor activities are part of the program.
Respiratory
Care*
We provide the following: respiratory assessment, oxygen monitoring, oxygen administration, nebulizer treatments, CPT, suctioning and tracheostomy care.
Children's
Nutritionist*
Specializes in tailoring nutrition plans to meet the diverse needs of children with complex medical conditions.
Social
Worker*
Providing a range of services tailored to enhance the overall well-being of children and their families.
Transportation
Provided
Transportation is available to all Medicaid-eligible children at our center and each trip is accompanied by qualified personnel.

When a doctor mentioned to us that there was a medical daycare in the Lake Charles area called PediaTrust that we could have him enrolled, we immediately felt the stress come off… Knowing our baby was going to be taken care of by a knowledgeable caring staff of nurses and providers made our transition home much more manageable. They provided transportation for both pick up and drop off. PediaTrust is more than your typical daycare. Everyone loves him and he fits right in…. The entire staff has always taken such amazing care of him…. When he first started, he didn’t speak or really communicate. Now, he knows over 150 words and can speak short sentences. I firmly believe this is due to all his interactions with his teachers and staff…. Pediatrust allows my daughter to work for OLOL and for me to work at a law firm. We both go to work every day knowing he is being cared for. Before Pediatrust, the idea of simply attempting to work was exhausting [and] overwhelming…. Now, each day, I go to work knowing that she will be loved and receive proper care from each staff member; not only from her RN’s and aids but also from everyone in between — administration, bus driver, and therapists. Simply put, Pediatrust has exceeded my expectations. As a parent of a medically fragile kiddo, feeling a little ‘normalcy’ goes a long way and Pediatrust has provided me with that and more.
Pediatrust has always had our son in physical and speech therapies [and] have continued to promote what most would perceive as unattainable. Over the last year, he has gained almost 20 pounds, can now eat small amounts of food orally, and is saying some sounds. They continue to work daily with him on his standing and walking abilities. It is not very often I feel comfortable leaving him in someone else’s care, but with Pediatrust’s team we will be eternally grateful for all they have done for our family and all the other families they affect everyday.
Pediatrust is more than a skilled facility that takes care of my child while I work.
