Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal hygiene care, including diaper changes, dressing, and cleaning.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning using wheelchairs or mobility aids.
  • Monitor vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure as directed.
  • Assist with feeding, ensuring children are able to eat and drink safely and comfortably.
  • Follow the care plan based on each child’s specific condition.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for the children.
  • Document and report any changes in the child’s condition to the healthcare team.
  • Provide recreational support and engage in therapeutic activities as needed.

The bus attendant will provide transportation assistance and ensure the safety of children with special requirements during their transit to and from our facility and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accompany children on the bus, ensuring their safety and well-being during transit.
  • Help children on and off the bus to ensure their safety using mobility assistance devices.
  • Monitor children for signs of distress, medical issues, or discomfort. Report any concerns immediately and keep consistent documentation.
  • When necessary, assist with administering basic medical care under the guidance of licensed medical staff.
  • Assist in Keeping the bus clean, organized, and stocked with necessary medical supplies and safety equipment.
  • Be trained in emergency procedures and first aid, including how to handle medical situations and evacuations if necessary.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns to parents, guardians, and staff regarding the child’s transportation or health status.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, preferably those with disabilities, is a plus.
  • Willingness to train in other areas of the clinic to maximize efficiency.
  • Ability to Lift, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Strong understanding of the needs and care plans of children with disabilities.
  • Compassionate and patient, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift and assist children with mobility and daily activities.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification required.
  • 2 years documented employment experience in a pediatric healthcare setting
  • Be currently registered with the Certified Nurse Aid Registry or Direct Service Worker Registry as a CNA or DSW in good standing and without restrictions.
