LPN/EMT Bus Attendant
Ensure the safety and well-being of children with physical, developmental, and/or medical needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide basic medical care and emergency interventions as needed (seizures, respiratory support, administration of prescribed emergency medications).
- Monitor vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and temperature, and report changes in condition.
- Assist students with mobility challenges, including lifting, positioning, and securing in wheelchairs, safety harnesses, or car seats.
- Monitor and document any incidents or medical concerns that occur during transit.
- Communicate clearly with bus drivers, medical staff, and parents/guardians regarding child’s needs and any changes in condition.
- Follow all safety procedures, HIPAA guidelines, individual care plans and transportation protocols.
Requirements:
- LPN or EMT license (Required)
- Current State License (Required)
- Pediatric Healthcare: 2 years (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- CPR Certified (Required)
- Experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
