Job Description: We are seeking a Direct Care Worker or Certified Nursing Assistant who loves working with children (birth to 21 years old) and those with medical needs.
This job provides a unique work environment and employment opportunity, as we provide medical care to
children who are unable to attend traditional daycare due to their medical needs.
Our CNA/DCW staff work alongside nursing staff to provide total care for 6-9 children. In rooms with 6 children, there is one nurse and one CNA/DCW. In rooms with 7-9 children, there are two nurses and one CNA/DCW. This is not an acute care setting, as all patients must be in stable condition to attend. Our CNA/DCW workers also assist in filling in on the bus as an attendant.
The DCW/CNA staff’s responsibilities in the clinic include: obtaining vital signs twice daily and PRN, diaper changes every two hours at minimum, feeding kids who can eat by mouth, assisting the nurse in preparing formula for those who feed through g-tubes, maintaining a clean room and equipment, and otherwise assisting the nurse within the CNA/DCW scope of practice.
The DCW/CNA staff’s responsibilities in the bus include: communicating with parents on when the bus will arrive to pick-up/drop-off their children, obtaining vital signs in the morning, and communicating with clinic staff correct arrival and departure times to the center.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 – $14.00 per hour
